10 Beaches in Barnstable County: located halfway between historic downtown Hyannis and Mashpee Commons.
7.6 Miles - Craigville Beach is a popular beach for sun bathing, kite surfing, and fishing. This public beach offers a long stretch of sandy beach, large parking lot, bathrooms, and restaurants nearby.
South Cape Beach
7.9 Miles - South Cape Beach offers plenty of parking and long stretches of sand and surf. This state park beach provides bathrooms, picnic areas, and hiking trails.
13.3 Miles - Scusset Beach State Reservation has spectacular sandy cliffs overlooking a 1.5 mile stretch of sandy beach adjacent to the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal. Fishermen enjoy fishing the deep waters off the long jetty. Plenty of parking is available.
Some of the best salt water and fresh water fishing can be found within a few miles. Mashpee's ponds are stocked (yearly) with large Rainbow, Brown, Tiger, and Brook Trout. South Cape Beach is a great place to catch Stripped Bass and Blue Fish (among other species).
Hyannis harbor with Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard and Block Island ferry boats - take a day trip to the Island.
